Africa-Nordic Summit: Algeria Seeks Strategic Economic Partnerships

Representing President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Sid Ali Khaldi, attended the 15th Africa-Nordic Summit in Oslo. Addressing a high-level panel on African unity, the minister emphasized Algeria's desire for a genuine partnership with Nordic countries based on technology transfer, training, and investment. He highlighted Algeria's role as a key investment destination and its commitment to continental integration through major infrastructure projects like the Trans-Saharan gas pipeline and highway. Algeria, participating as a guest of honor, also hosted an "Algeria Day" event alongside the Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy to showcase its economic potential. The summit served as a platform to further strengthen ties with the five Nordic nations, building on existing collaborations in sectors ranging from pharmaceuticals and telecommunications to energy and agriculture, as part of Algeria's strategy to diversify its economy.
