Amel Abdelatif, Minister of Internal Trade and Regulation of the National Market, announced a 120 billion DZD allocation in the 2027 draft finance bill to subsidize the prices and profit margins of sugar, oil, green coffee, and soybeans. This initiative aims to maintain market stability and preserve the purchasing power of citizens. The government plans to extend tax and customs exemptions through 2029 for the import of livestock, meat, and pulses. During the presentation of the sector's budget, the Minister emphasized that these funds will support market regulation, subsidize transport costs to southern regions, and ensure proactive supply chain management for the upcoming Ramadan season.
