Algeria taps into expatriate expertise to advance its agricultural sector

Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Sid Ali Khaldi, held discussions with Professor Elias Zerhouni, coordinator of the High Council for the National Scientific Community Abroad, regarding collaboration to improve the agricultural industry. During the meeting on Saturday, officials reviewed ways to leverage the scientific and technological experience of Algerian experts living abroad to support agricultural growth. The talks emphasized the role of research and innovation in addressing climate change and increasing yields in strategic crops. Both parties also addressed strategies for enhancing local seeds and animal breeds to boost national production and strengthen food security.
