European Union migration data: Algerian nationals and exit orders in 2025

New European statistics reveal that 45,890 Algerian nationals were issued orders to leave EU territory in 2025. This figure places Algeria at the top of the list for administrative removal decisions, ahead of Morocco (29,220) and Turkey (24,780). In total, 491,950 third-country nationals were ordered to leave, representing a 5.8% increase over 2024. France accounts for the highest volume of these orders, with 137,550 cases, roughly 28% of the European total. Despite the volume of administrative actions, actual departures remain lower; in 2025, 135,460 individuals left the EU following such decisions, marking an execution rate of 27.5%. While Algerians received the highest number of exit orders, they were not among the top five nationalities in terms of verified departures, a category led by Turkish, Georgian, and Syrian citizens.
