Call to refrain from waving Algerian flags during French student protests

The "French-Algerian Union" association has called on the Algerian community in France to avoid waving the national flag during ongoing high school protests, emphasizing that these demonstrations relate solely to domestic French educational issues. The movement, which has seen students strike over demands such as improved learning conditions, staff shortages, and concerns regarding university admission systems, is currently unfolding in a highly sensitive political atmosphere. Amidst debates over vandalism and the identity of the protesters, concerns have been raised regarding attempts to link these events to Algeria. Furthermore, the Magistrates' Union has expressed criticism over police methods, alleging that security forces are disproportionately targeting youth from immigrant backgrounds and underprivileged neighborhoods during the crackdowns.
