Solar Energy: Massive 300 MW Photovoltaic Plant Inaugurated in El-Oued
The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjal, inaugurated a 300-megawatt solar photovoltaic plant in the wilaya of El-Oued on Monday. This project is recognized as the largest in the country and the second largest in Africa regarding production capacity. The facility is part of a broader national objective to achieve a total solar photovoltaic output of 15,000 megawatts by 2035. This site marks the third major plant to become operational in 2026, following the commissioning of facilities in Tendla (El-Meghaier province) and El-Ghrous (Biskra province), which each have a capacity of 200 megawatts.
