Gas Summit in Moscow: Algeria reaffirms its role as a reliable energy partner for Europe
At the Gas Exporting Countries Forum summit in Moscow, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, represented by Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, delivered a message reassuring Europe of steady gas supplies. The President emphasized that Algeria remains a secure and reliable supplier, consistently honoring its commitments throughout challenging times. Highlighting Algeria's long-standing leadership in the sector, dating back to the 1964 Arzew facility, the President noted the country's current status as a top global producer and the second-largest pipeline gas supplier to the European Union. Furthermore, the President pledged that Algeria would deploy its full expertise and capital to ensure the success of the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP). This project, intended to transport gas from Nigeria to Europe via Niger and Algeria, is viewed as a vital tool for South-South cooperation and sustainable development.
