The economic and financial center of the Sidi M'hamed court issued rulings this Tuesday regarding corruption charges involving former officials of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), specifically concerning the 'Adidas' deal and contracts with a Tunisian entity. Former federation presidents Kheireddine Zetchi and Charaf-Eddine Amara were sentenced to 8 years in prison, while Djahid Zefizef received a 6-year sentence. Other defendants, including administrative officials and an agent, were given prison terms ranging from 2 to 5 years, with some others being acquitted. The convicted individuals were also fined one million dinars each. The charges against the defendants included abuse of office to grant undue privileges, violation of legal regulations in contract procurement, and the intentional squandering and embezzlement of public funds.
