Omar Rekkache: Turning investment into added value is Algeria's economic priority
During the investment forum in Doha, Omar Rekkache, Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, stated that Algeria's core challenge is transitioning from merely attracting capital to executing productive projects that create jobs and increase exports. Rekkache noted that Algeria is improving its investment climate through legal reforms, digitalization, and simplified access to industrial land. He emphasized that economic zones must function as integrated systems, linking infrastructure with local supply chains. Furthermore, he argued that the evaluation of investment performance should move beyond the number of registered projects, focusing instead on active production, actual added value, technology transfer, and the long-term contribution to national competitiveness.
