On October 25, 2026, Algeria hosted a ministerial meeting of the tripartite neighboring countries mechanism, where Algeria, Tunisia, and Egypt declared their commitment to a comprehensive political settlement in Libya. The ministers emphasized the central role of this mechanism under UN auspices, advocating for synchronized presidential and parliamentary elections to end transition periods and unify national institutions. The three nations strongly rejected external interference, calling for the withdrawal of all foreign troops and mercenaries from Libya. Economically, they stressed the necessity of preserving Libya's frozen assets and ensuring their sound management. The meeting concluded with an agreement to hold the next session in Tunisia, underscoring ongoing regional coordination to support Libyan stability.
