Stellantis boosts Algerian production as Fiat Grande Panda nears market launch

Stellantis is preparing for the upcoming launch of the "Fiat Grande Panda" in Algeria while expanding operations at its Tafraoui plant in Oran. The vehicle will be manufactured using the full assembly (CKD) process, including body welding and painting. The group targets an annual production capacity of 135,000 vehicles by 2028, up from 17,000 in 2024, aiming to increase local integration to over 30% by 2026. Italian Ambassador Alessandra Schiavo recently visited the facility, which currently employs 2,500 workers and produces the Fiat Doblò. Built on the "Smart Car" platform, the Grande Panda's specific features for the Algerian market are yet to be officially confirmed.
