Russia-Africa Summit: Algeria Advocates for a Multilateral Order and Strategic Partnership
At the third Russia-Africa summit held in Moscow in October 2026, Algeria championed a multipolar vision based on justice and shared development. Represented by Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb on behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Algeria called for a comprehensive reform of the UN Security Council to rectify historical injustices against Africa. The speech highlighted the deepening ties with Russia, urging Russian operators to invest in sectors like energy, agriculture, and digital infrastructure. Algeria firmly rejected foreign interference, reiterated its support for a political solution to the Western Sahara issue, and stood by the Palestinian cause. Furthermore, the country showcased its active role in regional integration through infrastructure projects such as the Trans-Saharan gas pipeline and its commitment to Africa’s socio-economic stability through the Algerian Agency for International Cooperation.
