Algeria Launches First Trilingual Dictionary for Pharmaceutical Industry Terms

The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Wassim Kouidri, in the presence of the President of the High Council for the Arabic Language, Salah Belaid, held a ceremony to honor the joint committee responsible for creating the first Algerian dictionary of pharmaceutical terms in Arabic, French, and English. The project, which involved a year of precise scientific review, includes over 5,600 specialized terms. The Minister highlighted that this reference work aims to unify pharmaceutical terminology and support academic research. A digital version has been released on the Ministry’s and the High Council’s websites, with printed copies being distributed to university libraries. Salah Belaid noted that the dictionary has seen high demand at the International Book Fair, emphasizing the necessity of periodic updates to keep pace with industry developments and support students and professionals.
