Minister of Culture and Arts, Malika Bendouda, received the «Heritage Personality of the Year» award as part of the 2026 Arab Heritage Media Awards. This honor recognizes her significant contributions to protecting and promoting Algeria's tangible and intangible cultural heritage. The award was presented by Dr. Yousef Ali Al-Kazim, head of the Arab Heritage Media Union, during a meeting where the delegation expressed their admiration for the historical and human importance of the Djanet region following the International Rock Art Festival. Both parties discussed enhancing coordination to document and showcase Algerian culture, emphasizing the role of specialized media in preserving historical memory for future generations.
