Alleged geopolitical plot targeting Algeria at the Niger border
Nigerian political analyst Cheffou Souleymane has uncovered a regional plot aimed at undermining Algeria through its southern border. According to his report, Libyan commander Khalifa Haftar has massed forces near the Madama military base in Niger, allegedly acting as a proxy for an international coalition opposed to Algeria's influence. This strategy reportedly involves providing logistics to local insurgent groups, specifically the Patriotic Front for the Liberation of Mahmoud Salah and the Movement for Justice and Freedom of Moussa Kounaï, to destabilize the region. A primary objective of this offensive is to sabotage critical Algerian economic interests, particularly the oil infrastructure at the Kafra project. The analyst asserts that the deployment of the Algerian People's National Army is essential to protect these strategic energy assets and neutralize the growing regional threat.
