Mohamed Azzi makes an impact in CSKA Moscow's derby victory
Algerian defender Mohamed Azzi made his mark during the Moscow derby between CSKA and Lokomotiv in the fifth round of the Russian Cup group stage. Entering the pitch as a substitute, he helped his side secure a 3-1 win. In the 66th minute, Azzi sent a sharp cross from the right wing into the box. The delivery forced Lokomotiv defender Georgi Djikiya to accidentally turn the ball into his own net, securing the third goal for CSKA. Although the play was not officially recorded as an assist for the Algerian, his contribution proved vital in closing out the match. So far this season, Azzi has made 14 appearances across all competitions for Dynamo Makhachkala and CSKA, scoring one goal against Rostov on October 14.
