The trade directorate in Constantine province has intensified field inspections across municipalities to regulate prices and protect consumer purchasing power. The campaign focuses on ensuring compliance with regulated pricing and preventing illegal trade practices. Authorities have seized and destroyed large quantities of food products unfit for consumption, including 118 kg of lamb and over 24 tonnes of spices and pickled goods following joint operations. Inspectors are also monitoring bakeries and enforcing the clear display of prices to ensure transparency. Meanwhile, a decrease in the price of staple goods, such as white meat and potatoes—which are now priced at 90 DZD per kilogram—has been recorded in the local market.
