Families of the Gdeim Izik Sahrawi civil detainees have announced a hunger strike to support their relatives, who have been refusing food for 16 consecutive days to protest their prison conditions. The Sahrawi Association of Victims of Grave Human Rights Violations committed by the Moroccan State reported that the detainees are facing severe health deterioration and increased restrictions. Additionally, the League for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners noted that families of detainees Mohamed Bachir Boutenkiza and El-Houcine Zaoui were denied visitation rights at Kenitra prison without legal justification. Organizations, including the Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH), have expressed deep concern, calling for the detainees' release and an impartial investigation into reports of torture. They have urged international bodies to pressure Moroccan authorities to uphold the fundamental rights and safety of the prisoners.
