Major drug bust: 2.4 million psychotropic pills seized in Algiers
The Algiers judicial council has dismantled an organized criminal group involved in a massive drug trafficking operation. Authorities seized 2.4 million prégabaline pills (300 mg) and apprehended 15 individuals, 10 of whom were caught in the act. Five additional suspects have been identified and are currently at large. The detainees face serious charges, including the illicit import and distribution of narcotics within a transnational criminal framework, threatening national security and public health, and money laundering. Following their interrogation, the investigative judge ordered that all suspects be held in pre-trial detention.
