Algeria targets $7.3 billion reduction in budget deficit for 2027

Algeria's draft finance bill for 2027 outlines a plan to shrink the national budget deficit by $7.3 billion, equivalent to 996.1 billion dinars compared to 2026 figures. The strategy relies on a 15.5% increase in total revenue, reaching 9,251.2 billion dinars, while limiting expenditure growth to just 1.4%, totaling 17,251.61 billion dinars. Key to this shift is a projected 24% boost in non-oil revenue, which offsets a 1.7% decline in oil tax receipts. While the budget aims to cover 51.7% of expenditures through revenue, fiscal forecasts remain volatile, with estimates indicating a potential deficit fluctuation heading into 2028 and 2029.
