Racist abuse overshadows Amin Chiakha’s stellar performance in Norway

Algerian striker Amin Chiakha faced a distressing incident during Rosenborg's 3-0 win against Fredrikstad in the Norwegian league. Despite scoring two goals to reach a total of 16 for the season and topping the scoring charts, the 20-year-old was reportedly targeted by a racist slur from an opponent. The match was briefly paused while the player complained to the referee. Chiakha, deeply affected by the event, declined media interviews after the final whistle. Rosenborg's general manager, Tore Berdal, condemned the behavior, citing a zero-tolerance policy. Conversely, Fredrikstad's sporting director, Joacim Heier, stated that their player denies the accusations and is distressed by the allegations.
