Agricultural Imports: Algeria Sets Deadline for 2027 Import Forecasts
The Ministry of Agriculture has set a deadline of October 31, 2026, for importers of live cattle, poultry inputs, milk, and dairy products to submit their 2027 Import Forecast Programs (PPI). This requirement, announced on October 7, is essential for securing import licenses and facilitating banking procedures. Veterinary services have urged operators to provide detailed information on product types and expected quantities to ensure efficient processing. This proactive measure aims to prevent market shortages of these essential goods. The PPI system, introduced in July 2025 to regulate and tighten control over imports, requires all such operations to be validated by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion.
