The mobile judicial police brigade of Akbou, in the province of Béjaïa, has dismantled a criminal network specializing in online gambling through the 1xBet platform. The operation stemmed from an investigation into drug trafficking, which led to the identification of a 25-year-old suspect managing large financial transfers in foreign currency via digital platforms such as Binance, PayPal, RedotPay, and Mobcash. Following investigation, 11 suspects were arrested. Searches of commercial premises and private homes resulted in the seizure of 9 million dinars, 2,510 euros, as well as computer equipment, mobile phones, and cash counting machines. The suspects face charges including forming a transnational criminal group, money laundering, violating exchange regulations, and illegal use of virtual currency platforms. Two individuals were remanded in custody, while the others were placed under judicial supervision.
