Security forces in Biskra province arrested a 56-year-old man caught with a large cache of psychotropic drugs. The suspect was intercepted at a checkpoint at the southern entrance of the city while traveling in a taxi heading toward the northern part of the country. During a search of the passengers, police discovered 1,949 capsules of Pregabalin hidden in the man's possession. Following legal proceedings, he was brought before the public prosecutor, who ordered him to be remanded in custody on charges of illegal possession, transport, and smuggling of psychotropic substances.
