Dr. Lina Farhat, Deputy Director for the evaluation of medical devices and diagnostic equipment at the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products, has been appointed as an expert and Vice-Chair of the Technical Committee on Medical Devices for the African Medicines Agency (AMA). The appointment was announced during the inaugural AMA Week, held in Kigali, Rwanda, from October 25 to 30, 2026, under the theme "Building the future of regulation in Africa together." This role highlights Algeria's expertise in pharmaceutical oversight and its significant contribution to harmonizing regulatory frameworks across the continent.
