Local authorities in Constantine have launched a wide-ranging campaign involving the demolition of unauthorized buildings constructed over waterways in the 800-housing unit district of El Guemmas. Executed by municipal and provincial public agencies, the initiative aims to ensure proper water flow and mitigate flood risks before the upcoming rainy season. Efforts included removing debris, waste, and trimming vegetation along water channels. The municipality has warned that any illegal encroachment on water paths will be subject to demolition to ensure public safety. Meanwhile, a comprehensive cleaning operation in the 5th of July delegation successfully removed approximately 30 tons of waste from various residential areas and the surroundings of educational and medical facilities.
