Ahead of a court hearing in Oran regarding charges of breaching medical confidentiality and theft of patient records, psychiatrist Aïcha Dahdouh, wife of author Kamel Daoud, has asserted her innocence. In a statement issued from Paris, Dahdouh denied the claims made by Saada Arbane, who filed a complaint in November 2024 through her lawyer, Fatima-Zohra Benbraham. The psychiatrist emphasized her commitment to professional ethics and denied mishandling sensitive health data. Due to family and professional constraints, Dahdouh could not attend the hearing in person but stated her readiness to appeal any guilty verdict. She also noted personal differences in political views with her husband and confirmed that she is placing herself at the disposal of the Algerian justice system through her legal counsel, Emmanuel Daoud.
