Sonatrach 2025 Annual Report: Increased Investments Amid Falling Profits
Sonatrach released its 2025 operational results, reporting a slight increase in primary hydrocarbon production at 193.7 million TOE, even as exports declined by 3%. The company faced a challenging international environment, resulting in a 26% drop in net profit to $4.44 billion, primarily due to lower oil and gas prices. Despite these financial pressures, the firm increased its capital expenditure by 29% to $7.9 billion, with 69% directed toward exploration and production projects such as Hassi R'Mel. Meanwhile, the report notes a significant surge in petroleum product imports, particularly diesel, which saw a 572% increase compared to the previous year.
