Béjaïa Governor Mohamed Meziane has called for an immediate acceleration of work on the remaining segments of the highway connecting the port of Béjaïa to the East-West motorway. During a field visit on Tuesday, October 27, he directed the Chinese firm CRCC to increase both human resources and machinery on-site, specifically for the final stretch between kilometer points PK11 and PK0. The governor reviewed the progress of engineering structures and road redevelopments, emphasizing the need for quality compliance and adherence to deadlines. While most of the 99-kilometer project, initiated in 2013, is operational, segments between PK11-PK6 and PK6-PK0, along with the Tazmalt and Timezrit interchanges, are still pending. The completion of this strategic road is expected to significantly improve logistics and transport flow to and from the port.
