Spanish police dismantle major drug trafficking ring with 86 arrests
Spanish authorities have dismantled a significant international hashish trafficking network, resulting in the arrest of 86 Spanish and Moroccan nationals and the seizure of nearly 11 tonnes of drugs. The operation led to the capture of the network's leader, known as "the tiger of hashish" (El Moreno), who had been in hiding in Morocco since March while leading a lavish lifestyle. The suspects were apprehended across seven Spanish provinces, including Madrid, Guadalajara, and Valencia, with 18 of them currently held in prison. Police officials noted that the organization used residential properties to conceal large quantities of illicit substances. This successful operation is considered a major breakthrough in combating transnational organized crime.
