President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has issued presidential decrees, published in the Official Gazette, confirming new appointments within Algeria's diplomatic corps. Manel El Ayoubi has been appointed ambassador to Chile, effective August 8, 2026, and Mourad Boukadoum will lead the mission in Botswana starting August 26, 2026. Mustapha Abdelhak Gasmi, formerly an aide to the Prime Minister's office, has taken up his role as ambassador to The Hague as of July 7, 2026. Additionally, Nadia Lamrani has been named Consul General in Montreal, Canada, starting August 30, 2026.
