National environmental campaign launched to restore forests and the Green Dam
Algeria has kicked off the second edition of the "I volunteer for my country" initiative, themed "Together, let's restore our forests," aimed at rehabilitating damaged forest areas and expanding the Green Dam project. Organized by the forestry department and the National Organization for Environment and Citizenship, the campaign runs until March 21. The inaugural event took place in the Médéa province, where 4,000 saplings were planted over 4.5 hectares in the "Kaf El Akhdar" forest. The initiative focuses on fostering a culture of environmental volunteering, involving schools, youth groups, and the general public, while hosting regional meetings to address climate change and combat desertification.
