Criminal network dismantled for siphoning state funds via phantom companies
A judge at the specialized anti-corruption court in Sidi M'hamed has ordered the pre-trial detention of 16 individuals linked to a criminal ring. The group is accused of establishing phantom companies to engage in money laundering, tax evasion, and forgery. Investigations by the Central Service for Combating Organized Crime in Saoula uncovered the use of over 400 fraudulent commercial registrations to facilitate illicit financial transactions. These activities caused severe losses to the public treasury, estimated at over 9,200 billion centimes. The operation resulted in the seizure of various vehicles, trucks, official seals, and forged administrative documents. Nine other suspects involved in the case have been placed under judicial supervision.
