The Palestinian Democratic Women’s Organization, known as 'Nada', has initiated a series of protests across Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon to challenge the cuts in UNRWA’s health, education, and social aid programs. Demonstrations held in the Chatila, Borj el-Chemali, Beddawi, and Ain al-Hilweh camps highlighted the critical shortages of medication and medical specialists, urging the agency to halt its austerity measures. Participants emphasized that these reductions disproportionately affect female-headed households, the elderly, and those with disabilities who are struggling with rising living costs and unemployment. Local leaders are now calling for a comprehensive emergency plan to support vulnerable families, particularly in the Tyre region, reiterating that the agency’s support remains vital for the survival and dignity of the refugee population.
