Major ecstasy seizure at Algiers port leads to international drug trafficking investigation

Algerian security forces and customs officials have successfully intercepted a massive shipment of 210,000 ecstasy pills arriving from Marseille at the port of Algiers. The contraband, totaling nearly 100 kilograms, was hidden inside structural modifications of a passenger car. The street value of the haul is estimated at 74 billion centimes. Two suspects have been arrested and presented before the specialized criminal prosecutor in Sidi M'Hamed. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the international network, which includes accomplices identified in France, as part of a cross-border organized crime probe.
