Mentouri University in Constantine is hosting a national symposium attended by over 100 researchers from 18 universities, focusing on the role of artificial intelligence in teaching English for specific purposes and as a medium of instruction. Professor Fatiha Sahli, Dean of the Faculty of Letters and Foreign Languages, noted that the two-day event explores how digital technologies can enhance student learning while addressing critical ethical and pedagogical challenges. Discussions cover the transition to English-medium instruction in various disciplines, the development of digital skills for educators, and the use of large language models to tailor educational content. Participants emphasized that while AI offers creative potential, the instructor's role remains essential for verifying accuracy and fostering analytical thinking.
