Launch of a digital mobile caravan for breast cancer screening in Algeria

As part of the 'Pink October' awareness month, the Ministry of Health has launched a national breast cancer screening campaign featuring a high-tech mobile unit designed to reach women in remote areas. The unit uses digital connectivity to link patients with the Pierre and Marie Curie Center in Algiers, enabling remote specialized diagnostics. Running until January 2026, the campaign highlights that early detection can increase survival rates to over 90%. The Ministry is also implementing a broad digitalization strategy, including electronic health records and tracking platforms for medical equipment. This effort is supported by a robust national plan to expand cancer care infrastructure, increase access to innovative therapies, and add more radiotherapy facilities and equipment by 2028.
