Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Regional Planning, Saïd Sayoud, stated that digital transformation has transcended simple technical upgrades to become a strategic and sovereign choice for building an efficient modern state. Addressing a seminar at the National School of Administration, Sayoud defined digital identity as a fundamental component of the relationship between citizens and state institutions. He emphasized the necessity of a national model that balances innovation with data sovereignty and robust protection against artificial intelligence threats. The Minister highlighted the central role of his department in managing civil status and biometric documents, which form the bedrock of reliable digital services. The event featured the handover of a software development kit for biometric documents to the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Interior and the Higher School of Artificial Intelligence to foster national expertise and coordination.
