The province of Mila is set to begin projects in the coming days to connect more than 650 homes to the natural gas network across seven municipalities. Funded by the local authorities' solidarity and guarantee fund, these efforts aim to enhance living conditions for residents in remote and mountainous areas, especially during the harsh winter months. The project targets specific regions within the municipalities of Grarem Gouga, Rouached, Oued Endja, Amira Arres, Teleghma, Minar Zarza, and Tadjenanet. These installations are expected to increase the provincial gas coverage rate from 81.25% to 86.87%. This move aligns with national directives to improve energy access in rural regions, following similar recent efforts, such as the inauguration of a gas supply project for 35 families in Chelghoum Laïd overseen by the provincial governor.
