UN inquiry commission accuses Israel of extermination and crimes against humanity in Palestine
A UN commission of inquiry released a report on Monday, October 26, accusing Israel of committing war crimes, crimes against humanity, extermination, and sexual violence against Palestinians in the occupied territories. The report indicates that the intentional targeting of civilians and the destruction of homes are part of a systematic strategy to force Palestinians from their lands and make their living conditions unbearable. Commission chairman Srinivasan Muralidhar stated that the violence perpetrated by the army and settlers in the West Bank is aimed at displacing the Palestinian population. The inquiry specifically expressed concern over the targeting of children and attacks on reproductive health, describing them as methods to destabilize and control the people. According to the commission, established in 2021, the military escalation observed since 2008 serves a broader policy of ethnic cleansing.
