Timimoun’s skies come alive with the Algerian Balloon Festival

The city of Timimoun, known as the Red Oasis, is currently hosting the "Algerian Balloon Festival," a major tourist and sporting event marking the start of the Saharan season. Until November 2nd, the sky over the Gourara region is filled with colorful hot air balloons and kites. Over forty sports clubs from across the country and abroad are taking part in the festivities. Beyond the aerial displays, the event showcases local culture through traditional crafts, folk performances, and workshops for children, reinforcing the region's status as a key tourist destination.
