Emergency responders intervened this Sunday morning in the municipality of Lakhdaria, Bouira province, to assist four individuals from the same family suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning. The incident, which took place in the 5th of July neighborhood, was caused by a leak from a water heater. The victims, consisting of three women and one man, experienced fainting spells and breathing difficulties. They were treated on-site by medical teams before being transferred to the local hospital. Following this event, the civil protection services reiterated their call for citizens to perform regular maintenance on heating and water-heating equipment and to ensure proper ventilation in their homes to avoid gas-related hazards.
