Following the latest FIFA rankings published on Thursday, October 8, the Algerian national team has moved up one spot to reach 28th place globally. This rise follows positive results, notably a 3-1 victory over Zambia and a 2-2 draw with Burundi in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers, alongside a 2-1 friendly win against Niger. Within Africa, Algeria remains among the top five nations. Globally, Spain, Argentina, and France continue to lead the rankings.
