General Chengriha: Sahel Stability is Central to Algeria's National Security

During an inspection visit to the Third Military Region in Béchar, Chief of Army Staff Saïd Chengriha stated that Algeria approaches Sahelian crises as a key partner, recognizing that the stability of its neighbors is a prerequisite for its own security. Chengriha emphasized that comprehensive development, supported by strategic infrastructure projects, remains the most effective way to combat terrorism and instability. He reaffirmed Algeria's adherence to principles of non-interference, sovereignty, and regional solidarity. Citing the vision of President Tebboune, he highlighted the vital link between economic progress and regional security. These remarks come as diplomatic ties between Algeria, Mali, and Niger are showing signs of normalization after a period of tension.
