Ministry of Education outlines 2026-2027 student assessment criteria
The Ministry of National Education has established the pedagogical assessment framework for all three educational stages for the 2026-2027 academic year, utilizing both continuous assessment and quarterly examinations. In correspondence to education directors, the Ministry clarified that assessment goes beyond measuring grades; it serves to diagnose learning progress, identify student difficulties, and provide necessary pedagogical support. In primary education, continuous assessment monitors classroom interaction, written work, and practical performance. This covers language skills, mathematics—including arithmetic, geometry, and measurement—as well as physical and artistic education. Grades are based on specific criteria such as participation, adherence to instructions, individual or group task performance, and the quality of work documented in activity notebooks and assigned projects.
