Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that Algerian-South African relations have reached a significant stage of development. This was highlighted during a ministerial meeting in Algiers aimed at following up on the outcomes of the 7th session of the high-level bilateral committee held in December 2024, which featured the visit of President Cyril Ramaphosa and the signing of a strategic partnership declaration. Attaf pointed to the shared history of struggle for independence, emphasizing the commitment to translating bilateral goals into tangible results. Additionally, Attaf held talks with his South African counterpart, Ronald Lamola, to discuss advancing their strategic partnership and improving coordination within international bodies, particularly regarding developments in the Middle East and the Western Sahara issue.
