Algerian doctors to undergo training in Turkey for organ transplantation
The second Turkish-Algerian medical conference held in Sétif addressed the latest techniques in liver and kidney transplantation. With the participation of renowned experts like Professor Remzi Amir Oglu, the event highlighted a training program aiming to qualify nearly 80 Algerian physicians in Turkey. This initiative seeks to enhance local medical expertise, as over 50 Algerian patients currently travel to Turkey annually for transplant surgeries due to competitive costs between $45,000 and $55,000. Discussions also underscored the critical role of early diagnosis and the legal frameworks surrounding living donor transplants to improve patient care outcomes.
