The mobile judicial police brigade in Akbou has dismantled an organized criminal network involved in illegal online betting, money laundering, and cryptocurrency trafficking. The operation began following the arrest of a 25-year-old in a separate drug-related investigation, which led to the discovery of a sophisticated financial scheme utilizing platforms such as 1xbet, Binance, and PayPal. Authorities executed search warrants that resulted in the seizure of 900,000 dinars, 2,510 euros, currency counting machines, and various electronic devices. Twelve individuals are facing serious charges, including violation of foreign exchange regulations and illegal digital asset trading. Two primary suspects have been detained, while the remaining members of the group have been placed under judicial supervision pending trial.
