In recent years, Constantine has attracted visitors from all five continents, with many choosing to come in autumn or spring. Diplomatic missions from France, Italy, America and Indonesia also visit the city regularly.
Khalid Bouadjatat, director of the Cirta National Public Museum, welcomed Robin Lynn Whitlofer, Canada’s ambassador to Algeria. She learned about key periods in the history of Algeria and Constantine and expressed admiration for a city at least 2,500 years old.
She also heard detailed explanations about some of the main archaeological objects held at the Cirta Museum, which bear witness to the succession of different civilizations on Algerian soil. The visit provided an opportunity to present the richness and diversity of Algeria’s cultural heritage. Canadian tourists also visited Constantine recently.
