Russia and Africa launch ambitious cooperation roadmap through 2029
The third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow has concluded with the adoption of a comprehensive action plan for 2027-2029, focusing on 19 sectors including security, AI, agriculture, and trade. The roadmap emphasizes political dialogue and coordination at the UN, while supporting the African Union's goal to end conflicts on the continent by 2030. Technology remains a priority, with plans to integrate AI-based early warning systems for natural disasters and public health emergencies. During the plenary session, President Vladimir Putin promoted a partnership based on equality and mutual respect, distancing Russian cooperation from historical colonial practices. Highlighting trade relations that exceeded $27 billion last year, Moscow affirmed its commitment to supporting African sovereignty and economic development within a multipolar world order.
